FEAD Biennial Conference

Driving Circularity in Europe?s Industries

 ABOUT THE EVENT

The European Federation of Waste Management and Environmental Services (FEAD) holds its biennial conference ?Driving Circularity in Europe?s Industries?  which will take place in Paris on 21 June 2017 and is co-organised  with our French member, FNADE.

Private waste and resources management companies produce high quality materials for re-injection into the economy. Our industry has made the transition from waste to resource managers, thereby providing services going beyond mere end-of-pipe solutions. As professionals, our companies invest and are active across the entire value chain: they cooperate with product designers, they optimise waste collection and sorting in order to reprocess waste into high quality raw materials. In doing so, they play a key role in achieving the best economic and environmental outcomes.

After welcoming words by the new FEAD President, Jean-Marc Boursier, our conference will showcase examples of private-sector-led innovation that help harness the potential of the circular economy, followed by a panel debate with distinguished guests from the European institutions, business and academia. After a short break, a special invitee will provide the audience with a future outlook of our sector.

So do not miss out on what promises to be a most interesting event on a special location in Paris and benefit from an excellent platform for valuable exchanges with people who make the circular economy happen.

Further details, including the programme of the conference and registration, will follow soon. All the information related to the conference is also available on our website at www.fead.be.

We look forward to seeing you in Paris on 21 June 2017!

FEAD is the European federation representing the private waste and resource management industry across Europe. FEAD?s members are national waste management associations covering 18 Member States, Norway and Serbia. They have an approximate 60% share in the household waste market and handle more than 75% of industrial and commercial waste in Europe. Their combined annual turnover is approximately ? 75 billion. FEAD represents about 3,000 companies with activities in all forms of waste management. These companies employ over 320,000 people who operate around 2,400 recycling and sorting centres, 1,100 composting sites, 260 waste-to-energy plants and 900 controlled landfills.

They play a key role in the transition to a circular economy by producing resources which can be re-injected in the economy and by supplying energy. Our companies add value through innovative and cost-efficient collection, sorting, and recycling of secondary raw materials.  In doing so, they play a key role in achieving the best economic and environmental outcomes.
